Gigable Product Cookie Policy

At Gigable we understand the importance of your Privacy, therefore this Cookie Policy provides you with a clear and transparent description of the cookies we use and why we use them.  The policy is applicable across the gigable software application made available to you once you sign up and use the Business Portal, accessed through the domain “gigable.app” and all associated subdomains.

For the Website (www.gigable.com), please visit the website cookie policy.

Please be aware that by restricting certain cookies, it may lead to a reduced experience in terms of functionality.

Gigable will, when required, alter this policy to reflect changes in technology and to ensure legislative compliance.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently remembering your preferences, and generally improve your website experience. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

Managing your Cookie Choices – The power of consent is in your hands

Not all cookies are the same and it is your right to select which ones you are comfortable with.

By accessing the Gigable ‘Cookie Jar’, you can change your cookie settings at any time and revoke previously given consent.

You may also manage your browser cookies settings in line with your privacy requirements.

Within the Settings option of your preferred browser, select Privacy and Security to customise your cookie settings, alternatively, search ‘Cookies’ and manage accordingly.  If you choose to disable cookies, some features of our Site or Services may not operate as intended.

More about cookies

Most websites you visit will use cookies in order to improve your experience by enabling that website to ‘remember’ you, either for the duration of your visit (using a ‘session cookie’) or for repeat visits (using a ‘persistent cookie’).

Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (‘first party cookies’) or they may be set by other websites who run content on the page you are viewing (‘third party cookies’).

Cookies – They don’t all taste the same!

Not all cookies perform the same job so here’s an explanation of what they do and how we use them.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around a website and use its features and/or services. Without these absolutely necessary cookies, websites or apps will not perform as smoothly for you as we would like it to, and they may not be able to provide the certain services or features.

What do we use these for?

  • We use Strictly Necessary Cookies to correctly identify you as a registered User and to ensure your ability to successfully navigate Gigable related sites, apps, products and services in a secure manner.
  • We use Stripe as a third-party integration for fraud prevention and detection. See more information about Stripe cookies on https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal

Your consent is not required for the use of Strictly Necessary Cookies.

Performance/Analytics Cookies

Performance cookies collect information about how visitors use a website or app; for instance, which pages or sections visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect any information that identifies a visitor. The information that these cookies collect is aggregated and is therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website or app works.

What do we use these for?

We use Performance Cookies to assess and improve how visitors use our technology through statistical analysis.  They are tools we use to make your experience more efficient and create a better experience.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow our Website and Gigable App to remember choices you make (such as your username and log in details) and any customisations you make to Website pages of Gigable App sections during your visit in order to provide enhanced, personalised features.

Functional cookies are anonymous and do not track your browsing activity on other websites.

Please note, that failure to activate Functional Cookies will lead to a greatly reduced experience across our technology.

Targeting or Advertising Cookies

Targeting or Advertising cookies are linked to services provided by third parties. The third party provides these services in return for recognising that you have visited a website. These cookies collect information about your browsing habits on the website in order to make advertising both on the website and other websites you subsequently visit relevant to you and your interests, to limit the number of times those adverts are served to you and to help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

At Gigable we don’t use advertising cookies.

Third party _hjClosedSurveyInvites Hotjar cookie that is set once a visitor interacts with an External Link Survey invitation modal. It is used to ensure that the same invite does not reappear if it has already been shown. 365 days
Third party _hjDonePolls Hotjar cookie that is set once a visitor completes a survey using the On-site Survey widget. It is used to ensure that the same survey does not reappear if it has already been filled in. 365 days
Third party _hjMinimizedPolls Hotjar cookie that is set once a visitor minimizes an On-site Survey widget. It is used to ensure that the widget stays minimized when the visitor navigates through your site. 365 days
Third party _hjShownFeedbackMessage Hotjar cookie that is set when a visitor minimizes or completes Incoming Feedback. This is done so that the Incoming Feedback will load as minimized immediately if the visitor navigates to another page where it is set to show. 365 days
Third party _hjid Hotjar cookie that is set when the customer first lands on a page with the Hotjar script. It is used to persist the Hotjar User ID, unique to that site on the browser. This ensures that behavior in subsequent visits to the same site will be attributed to the same user ID. 365 days
Third party _hjRecordingLastActivity This should be found in Session storage (as opposed to cookies). This gets updated when a visitor recording starts and when data is sent through the WebSocket (the visitor performs an action that Hotjar records). Session
Third party _hjTLDTest When the Hotjar script executes we try to determine the most generic cookie path we should use, instead of the page hostname. This is done so that cookies can be shared across subdomains (where applicable). To determine this, we try to store the _hjTLDTest cookie for different URL substring alternatives until it fails. After this check, the cookie is removed. Session
Third party _hjUserAttributesHash User Attributes sent through the Hotjar Identify API are cached for the duration of the session in order to know when an attribute has changed and needs to be updated. Session
Third party _hjCachedUserAttributes This cookie stores User Attributes which are sent through the Hotjar Identify API, whenever the user is not in the sample. These attributes will only be saved if the user interacts with a Hotjar Feedback tool. Session
Third party _hjLocalStorageTest This cookie is used to check if the Hotjar Tracking Script can use local storage. If it can, a value of 1 is set in this cookie. The data stored in_hjLocalStorageTest has no expiration time, but it is deleted almost immediately after it is created. Under 1000ms
Third party _hjIncludedInPageviewSample This cookie is set to let Hotjar know whether that visitor is included in the data sampling defined by your site’s pageview limit. 30 mins
Third party _hjIncludedInSessionSample This cookie is set to let Hotjar know whether that visitor is included in the data sampling defined by your site’s daily session limit. 30 mins
Third party _hjAbsoluteSessionInProgress This cookie is used to detect the first pageview session of a user. This is a True/False flag set by the cookie. 30 mins
